Logan County Economic Development Corporation (“LCEDC”) is pleased to announce the establishment of Avery Technical Resources (“ATR”) corporate headquarters to Sterling, CO. ATR is owned and operated by Avery and Lori Schott and has a northern division located in Milaca, MN and a southern division located in Odessa, TX. With ties to Northeast Colorado, Avery and Lori began corporate headquarter relocation considerations in late 2016. After looking at multiple states they settled on Colorado. Through a review of site options and strategic positioning, Avery and Lori decided Sterling was the best option for them professionally and personally.
Avery Technical Resources was established in 2008 and serves as a third-party human resource staffing provider for energy companies (oil, gas, wind and solar). The company provides construction management, inspection, temporary workforce staffing, along with land services for energy clients across the United States. ATR internal network supports the daily operations of staffing, compliance and regulatory administrations to meet our client’s directives. In addition to internal staffing, ATR employs on an average 200 plus field employee’s year at any given time, working on projects across the US. Our clients vary from some of the largest Fortune 500 companies to smaller energy companies. ATR is excited to expand our human resources to potential clients in the western United States.
Their decision also represents a change in business attraction in Logan County. When asked what the major deciding factors were for them to pick Sterling for the new corporate office Lori Schott said, “When we started our company in Minnesota, we opened the office in our rural farming community. We quickly realized that our business can operate if we have employees who share our vision for integrity, work ethic and commitment, along with an infrastructure to support our technological needs. Avery and I looked at various regions of the western United States and finally made the decision to locate our corporate office in Sterling. Avery is from this area, our two sons (who are now engineers and working for the company) attended NJC and were on the rodeo team. This community just kept drawing us back to our rural agriculture roots and the importance of a sense of community which is key to our corporate philosophy. Trae did an outstanding job of keeping me informed of potential office locations, technology support needs and business incentives.”
LCEDC Executive Director, Trae Miller, said “Having Avery Technical Resources choose to come to Sterling when they had the ability to locate anywhere says a lot about the assets we have in the community. (ATR) is a great example of a service related business that is a primary employer driving new dollars into our local economy from other parts of the country. Successful recruiting of operations like theirs helps to continue moving us forward with our goals of creating new and diverse employment opportunities while driving more outside dollars into the economy.”
Avery Technical Resources is located at 12970 County Road 37 in Sterling. The ATR team welcomes visitors or any opportunity to share their small business story.
