Logan County Economic Development Corporation (“LCEDC”) is pleased to announce a new Downtown Sterling addition, Lorenzo Apothecary to open at 306 Main Street in September.  It will be the first certified Pharmacy Compounding Center of America (PCCA) facility in Northeast Colorado outside of the Front Range.  The PCCA designation is based on population of the service area and must go through board approval, and pass a certified course to attain PCCA status. 

Lorenzo Apothecary will offer a variety of pharmaceutical services including prescriptions, deliveries, specialized compounds, hormone therapies, men’s health, plus an arrangement of CBDRx hemp products, vitamins, and over-the-counters.  The new offerings of specialized compounds and hormone therapy will help the community have better access to services not readily available currently.  In addition to the pharmaceutical products, they will also offer a Jelly Belly Candy Lab and Apothecary Candles by Paddywax.

Pharmacist, David Lorenzo, and wife Lindsey both grew up in the Sterling area and are raising their two children here.  David was a University of Colorado School of Pharmacy graduate in 1994.  When asked why they chose to locate this business Downtown on Main Street the Lorenzo’s said, “We want to create an environment with classic customer service and a nostalgic pharmacy feel.  There will be no automated phone system, no discount cards to buy, just straight forward hometown service.  Lorenzo Apothecary will be a facility that the actual pharmacist will greet customers at the door and be there to answer any questions or concerns.  We want to recreate the pharmacy of yesteryear.”  

LCEDC Executive Director, Trae Miller, said “Lorenzo Apothecary will add to the increasingly diverse offerings in Downtown Sterling.  Whenever a new business like this is opened it provides an opportunity for downtown structures to get renovated and brought back to life.  Thanks to the Sterling Urban Renewal Authority programs, property owners are willing and able to make the necessary investments and upgrades that we hope will inject life into Downtown for years to come through these type of developments.”
